Updated: Mar 5, 2023

Keeping Stress at Bay like...

Hair falling out, sleep issues, and fatigue that feels like it's been there forever. You've dealt with it, and hey, I have too! After all, stress is an inevitable part of life that affects us all at some point or another. Unfortunately, we can't always control the circumstances and events that trigger stress in our lives, that's just the facts! When left unmanaged, stress can cause feelings of overwhelm and burnout. It's crucial to learn how to manage stress effectively for a myriad of reasons that include your health and relationships.

These simple yet effective stress management tips help minimize the impact on your mental health. They will help you stay calm and focused, even when you are faced with challenging situations!

Identifying the Issue

One of the first steps in reducing stress is identifying what is causing it. This could be work-related, personal, or a combination of both. Once you have identified the root of the stress, you can start taking steps to address it. You may need to make changes in your work routine, talk to a friend or loved one, or seek professional help.

Employing Psychological "Tricks"

Our minds are powerful tools that can be used to help us reduce stress. One psychological trick that can help is reframing. This involves looking at a situation in a different way to change your emotional response to it. For example, instead of viewing a stressful situation as a threat, you could reframe it as a challenge. This can help you feel more in control and better able to cope with the situation.

Practice Relaxation Techniques

Relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, meditation, and yoga can help reduce feelings of anxiety and tension. These practices can help you calm your mind, relax your body, and promote a sense of well-being. Regular practice of relaxation techniques can also lead to better sleep, improved digestion, and increased focus. Yoga not your thing? Try running, or pilates! Anything that gets you focused on your body instead of your mind is going to be a plus.

Time Management

Effective time management can help reduce stress by enabling you to manage your workload and avoid feeling overwhelmed. An effective time management technique I love is prioritizing tasks according to their importance and deadline. By doing so, you can ensure that you are focusing on the most critical tasks first. Additionally, breaking down large projects into smaller, manageable tasks can help you avoid feeling overwhelmed and promote a sense of accomplishment.

Control What You Can

It's important to remember that not everything is within your control. Rather than focusing on things you cannot change, focus on what you can control. For example, you can control your response to a situation or your own behavior. By shifting your focus to what you can control, you can reduce feelings of helplessness and stress.

Reducing stress is essential for your mental and physical well-being. By identifying the root of your stress, employing psychological tricks, practicing relaxation techniques, managing your time effectively, and focusing on what you can control, you can help heal your mental health, and focus on your role as a CEO!
